I work with schools to improve behaviour by focusing on what actually happens day to day.
Most schools already have a policy, routines, and clear expectations. The difficulty is making that work consistently across staff, especially when behaviour escalates.
That’s where I focus my work.
I’ve spent the past 20 years working with children and young people in a range of roles.
I started as a teaching assistant, before moving into a pastoral role supporting pupils with more challenging behaviour. I then trained as a primary school teacher and taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
I still work in schools now, supporting pupils and working alongside staff. That keeps my work grounded in what is realistic in a classroom, not just what sounds good in theory.
In most schools, behaviour doesn’t improve simply because more strategies are introduced.
The difficulty is consistency.
Staff respond differently.
Follow-through varies.
What is written in the policy doesn’t always match what happens in the moment.
Over time, pupils notice this. Behaviour becomes less predictable, and staff begin to feel less confident.
My work focuses on tightening this in practice.
I work with schools to:
Identify where behaviour systems are breaking down
Clarify what should happen in key situations
Support staff to respond more consistently
So behaviour becomes more predictable, and staff feel supported.
When responses are clear and consistent, pupils understand where they stand.
That reduces the need for constant escalation, and allows staff to focus more on teaching and less on managing behaviour.
If this feels relevant to your school, you can book a short call to talk it through. Book a call
